Tafsir of Verse 20, Surah Az-Zukhruf

وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْ شَآءَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ مَا عَبَدْنَٰهُم ۗ مَّا لَهُم بِذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ ۖ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَخْرُصُونَ ﴿20﴾

Display verse 20, Surah Az-Zukhruf in the Quran

English Translation

And they said, "If the Most Merciful had willed, we would not have worshipped them." They have of that no knowledge. They are not but falsifying. (20)

English Transliteration

Waqaloo law shaa alrrahmanu ma AAabadnahum ma lahum bithalika min AAilmin in hum illa yakhrusoona (20)

Tafsir of Verse 20

They say, 'Had the All-merciful so willed, we would not have served them.' They have no knowledge of that; they are only conjecturing. (20)

("Ah!") they say, "If it had been the will of (Allah) Most Gracious, we should not have worshipped such (deities)!" Of that they have no knowledge! they do nothing but lie! (20)
