لِإِيلَٰفِ قُرَيْشٍ ﴿1﴾ إِۦلَٰفِهِمْ رِحْلَةَ ٱلشِّتَآءِ وَٱلصَّيْفِ ﴿2﴾ فَلْيَعْبُدُوا۟ رَبَّ هَٰذَا ٱلْبَيْتِ ﴿3﴾ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٍ وَءَامَنَهُم مِّنْ خَوْفٍۭ ﴿4﴾

Tafsir of Surah Quraish (Arberry: A. J. Arberry)

لِإِيلَٰفِ قُرَيْشٍ ﴿1﴾

English Translation

For the accustomed security of the Quraysh - (1)

English Transliteration

Lieelafi qurayshin (1)

Tafsir of Verse 1

For the composing of Koraish, (1)

إِۦلَٰفِهِمْ رِحْلَةَ ٱلشِّتَآءِ وَٱلصَّيْفِ ﴿2﴾

English Translation

Their accustomed security [in] the caravan of winter and summer - (2)

English Transliteration

Eelafihim rihlata alshshitai waalssayfi (2)

Tafsir of Verse 2

their composing for the winter and summer caravan! (2)

فَلْيَعْبُدُوا۟ رَبَّ هَٰذَا ٱلْبَيْتِ ﴿3﴾

English Translation

Let them worship the Lord of this House, (3)

English Transliteration

FalyaAAbudoo rabba hatha albayti (3)

Tafsir of Verse 3

So let them serve the Lord of this House (3)

ٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٍ وَءَامَنَهُم مِّنْ خَوْفٍۭ ﴿4﴾

English Translation

Who has fed them, [saving them] from hunger and made them safe, [saving them] from fear. (4)

English Transliteration

Allathee atAAamahum min jooAAin waamanahum min khawfin (4)

Tafsir of Verse 4

who has fed them against hunger and secured them from fear. (4)
