وَٱلطُّورِ ﴿1﴾ وَكِتَٰبٍ مَّسْطُورٍ ﴿2﴾ فِى رَقٍّ مَّنشُورٍ ﴿3﴾ وَٱلْبَيْتِ ٱلْمَعْمُورِ ﴿4﴾ وَٱلسَّقْفِ ٱلْمَرْفُوعِ ﴿5﴾ وَٱلْبَحْرِ ٱلْمَسْجُورِ ﴿6﴾ إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَٰقِعٌ ﴿7﴾ مَّا لَهُۥ مِن دَافِعٍ ﴿8﴾ يَوْمَ تَمُورُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ مَوْرًا ﴿9﴾ وَتَسِيرُ ٱلْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا ﴿10﴾ فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿11﴾ ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ ﴿12﴾ يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا ﴿13﴾ هَٰذِهِ ٱلنَّارُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ ﴿14﴾

وَٱلطُّورِ ﴿1﴾

English Translation

By the mount (1)

English Transliteration

Waalttoori (1)

Tafsir of Verse 1

By the Mount (of Revelation); (1)

وَكِتَٰبٍ مَّسْطُورٍ ﴿2﴾

English Translation

And [by] a Book inscribed (2)

English Transliteration

Wakitabin mastoorin (2)

Tafsir of Verse 2

By a Decree inscribed (2)

فِى رَقٍّ مَّنشُورٍ ﴿3﴾

English Translation

In parchment spread open (3)

English Transliteration

Fee raqqin manshoorin (3)

Tafsir of Verse 3

In a Scroll unfolded; (3)

وَٱلْبَيْتِ ٱلْمَعْمُورِ ﴿4﴾

English Translation

And [by] the frequented House (4)

English Transliteration

Waalbayti almaAAmoori (4)

Tafsir of Verse 4

By the much-frequented Fane; (4)

وَٱلسَّقْفِ ٱلْمَرْفُوعِ ﴿5﴾

English Translation

And [by] the heaven raised high (5)

English Transliteration

Waalssaqfi almarfooAAi (5)

Tafsir of Verse 5

By the Canopy Raised High; (5)

وَٱلْبَحْرِ ٱلْمَسْجُورِ ﴿6﴾

English Translation

And [by] the sea filled [with fire], (6)

English Transliteration

Waalbahri almasjoori (6)

Tafsir of Verse 6

And by the Ocean filled with Swell;- (6)

إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَٰقِعٌ ﴿7﴾

English Translation

Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur. (7)

English Transliteration

Inna AAathaba rabbika lawaqiAAun (7)

Tafsir of Verse 7

Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- (7)

مَّا لَهُۥ مِن دَافِعٍ ﴿8﴾

English Translation

Of it there is no preventer. (8)

English Transliteration

Ma lahu min dafiAAin (8)

Tafsir of Verse 8

There is none can avert it;- (8)

يَوْمَ تَمُورُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ مَوْرًا ﴿9﴾

English Translation

On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion (9)

English Transliteration

Yawma tamooru alssamao mawran (9)

Tafsir of Verse 9

On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion. (9)

وَتَسِيرُ ٱلْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا ﴿10﴾

English Translation

And the mountains will pass on, departing - (10)

English Transliteration

Wataseeru aljibalu sayran (10)

Tafsir of Verse 10

And the mountains will fly hither and thither. (10)

فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿11﴾

English Translation

Then woe, that Day, to the deniers, (11)

English Transliteration

Fawaylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena (11)

Tafsir of Verse 11

Then woe that Day to those that treat (Truth) as Falsehood;- (11)

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ ﴿12﴾

English Translation

Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves. (12)

English Transliteration

Allatheena hum fee khawdin yalAAaboona (12)

Tafsir of Verse 12

That play (and paddle) in shallow trifles. (12)

يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا ﴿13﴾

English Translation

The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say], (13)

English Transliteration

Yawma yudaAAAAoona ila nari jahannama daAAAAan (13)

Tafsir of Verse 13

That Day shall they be thrust down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly. (13)

هَٰذِهِ ٱلنَّارُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ ﴿14﴾

English Translation

"This is the Fire which you used to deny. (14)

English Transliteration

Hathihi alnnaru allatee kuntum biha tukaththiboona (14)

Tafsir of Verse 14

"This:, it will be said, "Is the Fire,- which ye were wont to deny! (14)
