Taught the Qur\'an, (2)

AAallama alqura na (2)

It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. (2)

Created man, (3)
English Transliteration
Khalaqa alinsa na (3)

[And] taught him eloquence. (4)
English Transliteration
AAallamahu albaya na (4)

He has taught him speech (and intelligence). (4)
English Translation
The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, (5)

Al shshamsu waa lqamaru bih usba nin (5)

The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; (5)
English Translation
And the stars and trees prostrate. (6)
English Transliteration
Waal nnajmu waal shshajaru yasjuda ni (6)

And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. (6)

And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance (7)

Waal ssama a rafaAAaha wawad aAAa almeeza na (7)

And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), (7)

That you not transgress within the balance. (8)
English Transliteration
Alla tat ghaw fee almeeza ni (8)

In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. (8)
English Translation
And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. (9)
English Transliteration
Waaqeemoo alwazna bia lqist i wala tukhsiroo almeeza na (9)

So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. (9)
English Translation
And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. (10)
English Transliteration
Waa lard a wad aAAaha lilana mi (10)

It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: (10)
English Translation
Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] (11)
English Transliteration
Feeha fa kihatun waal nnakhlu tha tu alakma mi (11)

Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); (11)
English Translation
And grain having husks and scented plants. (12)
English Transliteration
Waa lh abbu th oo alAAas fi waal rrayha ni (12)

Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. (12)
English Translation
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (13)
English Transliteration
Fabiayyi a la i rabbikuma tukathth iba ni (13)

Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (13)
English Translation
He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. (14)
English Transliteration
Khalaqa alinsa na min s alsa lin kaa lfakhkha ri (14)

He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, (14)
English Translation
And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. (15)
English Transliteration
Wakhalaqa alja nna min ma rijin min na rin (15)

And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: (15)
English Translation
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (16)

Fabiayyi a la i rabbikuma tukathth iba ni (16)
