قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْفَلَقِ ﴿1﴾ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ﴿2﴾ وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ﴿3﴾ وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّٰثَٰتِ فِى ٱلْعُقَدِ ﴿4﴾ وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ ﴿5﴾

Tafsir of Surah Al-Falaq (Arberry: A. J. Arberry)

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْفَلَقِ ﴿1﴾

English Translation

Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak (1)

English Transliteration

Qul aAAoothu birabbi alfalaqi (1)

Tafsir of Verse 1

Say: 'I take refuge with the Lord of the Daybreak (1)

مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ﴿2﴾

English Translation

From the evil of that which He created (2)

English Transliteration

Min sharri ma khalaqa (2)

Tafsir of Verse 2

from the evil of what He has created, (2)

وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ﴿3﴾

English Translation

And from the evil of darkness when it settles (3)

English Transliteration

Wamin sharri ghasiqin itha waqaba (3)

Tafsir of Verse 3

from the evil of darkness when it gathers, (3)

وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّٰثَٰتِ فِى ٱلْعُقَدِ ﴿4﴾

English Translation

And from the evil of the blowers in knots (4)

English Transliteration

Wamin sharri alnnaffathati fee alAAuqadi (4)

Tafsir of Verse 4

from the evil of the women who blow on knots, (4)

وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ ﴿5﴾

English Translation

And from the evil of an envier when he envies." (5)

English Transliteration

Wamin sharri hasidin itha hasada (5)

from the evil of an envier when he envies.' (5)
