[Who is] obligated not to say about Allah except the truth. I have come to you with clear evidence from your Lord, so send with me the Children of Israel." (105)

H aqeequn AAala an la aqoola AAala Alla hi illa alh aqqa qad jitukum bibayyinatin min rabbikum faarsil maAAiya banee isra eela (105)

One for whom it is right to say nothing but truth about Allah. Now have I come unto you (people), from your Lord, with a clear (Sign): So let the Children of Israel depart along with me." (105)
English Translation
[Pharaoh] said, "If you have come with a sign, then bring it forth, if you should be of the truthful." (106)
English Transliteration
Qa la in kunta jita bia yatin fati biha in kunta mina al ssa diqeena (106)

(Pharaoh) said: "If indeed thou hast come with a Sign, show it forth,- if thou tellest the truth." (106)
English Translation
So Moses threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent, manifest. (107)
English Transliteration
Faalqa AAasa hu faitha hiya thuAAba nun mubeenun (107)

Then (Moses) threw his rod, and behold! it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)! (107)
English Translation
And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white [with radiance] for the observers. (108)

WanazaAAa yadahu faitha hiya bayda o lil nna th ireena (108)

And he drew out his hand, and behold! it was white to all beholders! (108)
English Translation
Said the eminent among the people of Pharaoh, "Indeed, this is a learned magician (109)

Qa la almalao min qawmi firAAawna inna hatha lasah irun AAaleemun (109)

Said the Chiefs of the people of Pharaoh: "This is indeed a sorcerer well-versed. (109)
English Translation
Who wants to expel you from your land [through magic], so what do you instruct?" (110)

Yureedu an yukhrijakum min ard ikum famatha tamuroona (110)

"His plan is to get you out of your land: then what is it ye counsel?" (110)
English Translation
They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers (111)
English Transliteration
Qa loo arjih waakha hu waarsil fee almada ini ha shireena (111)

They said: "Keep him and his brother in suspense (for a while); and send to the cities men to collect- (111)
English Translation
Who will bring you every learned magician." (112)

Yatooka bikulli sah irin AAaleemin (112)

And bring up to thee all (our) sorcerers well-versed." (112)

And the magicians came to Pharaoh. They said, "Indeed for us is a reward if we are the predominant." (113)
English Transliteration
Waja a al ssah aratu firAAawna qa loo inna lana laajran in kunna nah nu algha libeena (113)

So there came the sorcerers to Pharaoh: They said, "of course we shall have a (suitable) reward if we win!" (113)
English Translation
He said, "Yes, and, [moreover], you will be among those made near [to me]." (114)

Qa la naAAam wainnakum lamina almuqarrabeena (114)

He said: "Yea, (and more),- for ye shall in that case be (raised to posts) nearest (to my person)." (114)
English Translation
They said, "O Moses, either you throw [your staff], or we will be the ones to throw [first]." (115)

Qa loo ya moosa imma an tulqiya waimma an nakoona nah nu almulqeena (115)

They said: "O Moses! wilt thou throw (first), or shall we have the (first) throw?" (115)
English Translation
He said, "Throw," and when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people and struck terror into them, and they presented a great [feat of] magic. (116)

Qa la alqoo falamma alqaw sah aroo aAAyuna al nna si wai starhaboohum waja oo bisih rin AAath eemin (116)

Said Moses: "Throw ye (first)." So when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people, and struck terror into them: for they showed a great (feat of) magic. (116)
English Translation
And We inspired to Moses, "Throw your staff," and at once it devoured what they were falsifying. (117)
English Transliteration
Waawh ayna ila moosa an alqi AAasa ka faitha hiya talqafu ma yafikoona (117)

We put it into Moses's mind by inspiration: "Throw (now) thy rod": and behold! it swallows up straight away all the falsehoods which they fake! (117)
English Translation
So the truth was established, and abolished was what they were doing. (118)
English Transliteration
FawaqaAAa alh aqqu wabat ala ma ka noo yaAAmaloona (118)

Thus truth was confirmed, and all that they did was made of no effect. (118)

And Pharaoh and his people were overcome right there and became debased. (119)

Faghuliboo huna lika wai nqalaboo sa ghireena (119)

So the (great ones) were vanquished there and then, and were made to look small. (119)

And the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah]. (120)

Waolqiya al ssah aratu sa jideena (120)
