English Translation
Thus, [O Muhammad], We relate to you from the news of what has preceded. And We have certainly given you from Us the Qur\'an. (99)
English Transliteration
Katha lika naquss u AAalayka min anba i ma qad sabaqa waqad a tayna ka min ladunna thikran (99)

So We relate to thee stories of what has gone before, and We have given thee a remembrance from Us. (99)
English Translation
Whoever turns away from it - then indeed, he will bear on the Day of Resurrection a burden, (100)
English Transliteration
Man aAArad a AAanhu fainnahu yah milu yawma alqiya mati wizra n (100)

Whosoever turns away from it, upon the Day of Resurrection He shall bear a fardel, (100)
English Translation
[Abiding] eternally therein, and evil it is for them on the Day of Resurrection as a load - (101)

Kha lideena feehi wasa a lahum yawma alqiya mati h imla n (101)

therein abiding forever; how evil upon the Day of Resurrection that burden for them! (101)
English Translation
The Day the Horn will be blown. And We will gather the criminals, that Day, blue-eyed. (102)
English Transliteration
Yawma yunfakhu fee al ss oori wanah shuru almujrimeena yawmaith in zurqa n (102)

On the day the Trumpet is blown; and We shall muster the sinners upon that day with eyes staring, (102)
English Translation
They will murmur among themselves, "You remained not but ten [days in the world]." (103)
English Transliteration
Yatakha fatoona baynahum in labithtum illa AAashra n (103)

whispering one to another, 'You have tarried only ten nights.' (103)
English Translation
We are most knowing of what they say when the best of them in manner will say, "You remained not but one day." (104)
English Transliteration
Nah nu aAAlamu bima yaqooloona ith yaqoolu amthaluhum t areeqatan in labithtum illa yawma n (104)

We know very well what they will say, when the justest of them in the way will say, 'You have tarried only a day.' (104)
English Translation
And they ask you about the mountains, so say, "My Lord will blow them away with a blast. (105)

Wayasaloonaka AAani aljiba li faqul yansifuha rabbee nasfa n (105)

They will question thee concerning the mountains. Say: 'My Lord will scatter them as ashes; (105)
English Translation
And He will leave the earth a level plain; (106)
English Transliteration
Fayath aruha qa AAan s afs afa n (106)

then He will leave them a level hollow (106)
English Translation
You will not see therein a depression or an elevation." (107)
English Transliteration
La tara feeha AAiwajan wala amta n (107)

wherein thou wilt see no crookedness neither any curving.' (107)
English Translation
That Day, everyone will follow [the call of] the Caller [with] no deviation therefrom, and [all] voices will be stilled before the Most Merciful, so you will not hear except a whisper [of footsteps]. (108)
English Transliteration
Yawmaith in yattabiAAoona al dda AAiya la AAiwaja lahu wakhashaAAati alas wa tu lil rrah ma ni fala tasmaAAu illa hamsa n (108)

On that day they will follow the Summoner in whom is no crookedness; voices will be hushed to the All-merciful, so that thou hearest naught but a murmuring. (108)
English Translation
That Day, no intercession will benefit except [that of] one to whom the Most Merciful has given permission and has accepted his word. (109)
English Transliteration
Yawmaith in la tanfaAAu al shshafa AAatu illa man ath ina lahu al rrah ma nu warad iya lahu qawla n (109)

Upon that day the intercession will not profit, save for him to whom the All-merciful gives leave, and whose speech He approves. (109)
English Translation
Allah knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, but they do not encompass it in knowledge. (110)
English Transliteration
YaAAlamu ma bayna aydeehim wama khalfahum wala yuh eet oona bihi AAilma n (110)

He knows what is before them and behind them, and they comprehend Him not in knowledge. (110)
English Translation
And [all] faces will be humbled before the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. And he will have failed who carries injustice. (111)
English Transliteration
WaAAanati alwujoohu lilh ayyi alqayyoomi waqad kha ba man h amala th ulma n (111)

And faces shall be humbled unto the Living, the Eternal. He will have failed whose burden is of evildoing; (111)
English Translation
But he who does of righteous deeds while he is a believer - he will neither fear injustice nor deprivation. (112)
English Transliteration
Waman yaAAmal mina al ssa liha ti wahuwa muminun fala yakha fu th ulman wala had ma n (112)

but whosoever does deeds of righteousness, being a believer, shall fear neither wrong nor injustice. (112)
English Translation
And thus We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur\'an and have diversified therein the warnings that perhaps they will avoid [sin] or it would cause them remembrance. (113)
English Transliteration
Wakatha lika anzalna hu qura nan AAarabiyyan was arrafna feehi mina alwaAAeedi laAAallahum yattaqoona aw yuh dithu lahum th ikra n (113)

Even so We have sent it down as an Arabic Koran, and We have turned about in it something of threats, that haply they may be godfearing, or it may arouse in them remembrance. (113)
